Midriff top: Romwe (here, here, here) | Dungaree: from a friend (here, here, here) | Flats: Solemate (here, here)
If you belong to Generation Y and specifically a 90s kid like me, you probably enjoyed wearing dungaree or what is commonly known back then as overall at least once during your childhood years. Overalls are typically in tough cotton or in linen to fit over a shirt or vest and trousers when they arrived in 1891-1916. Women wore them in factories in England during First World War in 1961. Overalls were then used as comfortable children's clothes during 1930s. The fashion world began to sell one-piece overalls as high quality leisure wear. [source] Now I'm diligent enough to search for its history. Now we know haha!
I'm wearing Shortalls here, obviously because unlike the overalls wherein the legs are fully covered up, shortalls are often worn during hot summer days. To fulfill the dungaree look, wear them with one of the straps loose or unfastened along the side and under the arm. Y'all know this tip I know. I hadn't tried to wear such again after my childhood life so when my friend's sister gave it to me, so so happy! What do you think of me combining it with colorful one? Mind you, I'm ready to work on my shortall with the woods there on my back haha!
